about

“Watch the Stars.” The song is a meditation on their open, collaborative, and playful bond. It also speaks to the beauty that is being around those who make you feel most like yourself. Starr, whose senses have heightened in recent years as to who really matters, speaks to how deeply she appreciates the presence of friends and family as she matures. Identifying the relationships that are meaningful has also helped the artist to not waste energy on the wrong ones. When too many are searching for affection in all the wrong places, Starr reminds us that real relationships are worth waiting for and investing in. This epiphany has also galvanized the artist to include as many friends as possible in her creative process. With so much changing in the world, she craves having people around with whom she already has rapport

lyrics

Hey, you look alright
Oh, turn out the lights
Fall back down
With me now

Talkin’ eye to eye
Did we get too high
To come down
Hang around

I don’t ever wanna leave my bed
I just wanna lie with you instead
Watch the stars
Turn to clouds
Hold me now

Let’s just let it fly
Time will pass us by
Don’t look down
Wait it out

I don’t ever wanna leave my bed
I just wanna lie with you instead
Watch the stars
Turn to clouds
Hold me now

Ooh now I believe it
It’s all making sense now
It’s such a beautiful feeling
Just hangin’ around

I don’t ever wanna leave my bed
I just wanna lie with you instead
Watch the stars
Turn to clouds
Hold me now
